Self Serve Surveillance

Got my eye pod

Got my eye phone

Got my laptop

Get my Twitter?

Got my Fox views

Got my faux news

Got my hardcore

Babysitter

Got the world in my smart phone

Relation cyber space

Much more social when alone

Then when we are face to face

With the world in my pocket

Everything will be just fine

Just as long as I don’t ask

In whose pocket resides mine

No one needs to spy on you

When your world is on display

            Self serve surveillance

            It’s the cost effective way

Every supermarket scanner

Knows the content of your stool

Every phone call that you make

Is considered by some tool

Of corporate oppression

Through government misrule

Object to terrorism

Subject to ridicule

No one needs to spy on you

When your world is on display

            Self serve surveillance

            It’s the cost effective way

Invite strangers into our homes

Into our heads, into our heart

Private lives as public tomes

As they pick our minds apart

Folks we’d revile on the street

Whom we’d give no time of day

Let them see us indiscreet

Freedom won’t get in the way

Show yourself

                        Show everybody

                        See yourself

                        Vision gets spotty

                        Be yourself

                        Impossibly naughty

                        Free yourself

                        Of being somebody

No one needs to spy on you

When your world is on display

            Self serve surveillance

            It’s the cost effective way
